Another year, and another winner! This time, first prize in the annual NAWG short story competition (comedy section 2023).
The story was inspired by a trip to Africa I made a few years ago. Recently, I’ve become acutely aware of how my view of the continent has become skewed by our imagery presented by the western media, so I was looking to write something that challenged that view.
And for better or worse, this is what I came up with!
